On The Water Practical Training
Want to learn the how to drive boats safely? Dreamboats offer regular tuition on everything from 6 meter trailer boats to 12 meter launches.
Members Cost: $45/hour for Power Boats Under 9 meters $95/hour for Power Boats Over 9 meters
Non-Members Cost (when available): $135/hour for Power Boats Under 9 meters $225/hour for Power Boats Over 9 meters
* Prices include instructor and boat rental. Fuel used is charged additionally

NZ DaySkipper
An introductory course for all members of the family or crew, including those new to boating. Applies to a range of vessels including yachts, launches, powerboats, jet skis, sea kayaks and waka. This is a compulsory (minimum) requirement to use any of the vessels in the Dreamboats fleet.
Aim: To provide essential basic boating knowledge and safety. Duration: 3-5 Hours of CD-ROM tutorials at home, in-class session with a Coastguard instructor doing a 1-2 hour of review, Q&A session and then a 45 minute exam. NZ Boatmaster
A comprehensive course for boaties with some existing knowledge and experience. Applies to a range of vessels including yachts, launches and powerboats.

Marine VHF Radio Operator
The Marine VHF Operator's Qualification (MVOQ) is a legal requirement for all users of Marine VHF Radio (an exception is made in cases of genuine emergency or distress). To obtain the MVOQ candidates are required to sit a written and oral exam. These are held in conjunction with a 4 - 6 hour theory course, which provide essential information for all candidates.
MVOQ courses and exams are delivered by accredited CBES tutors and examiners throughout the country.
